I saw some poll for mesh hair
Like or not like was the poll, people talking about it in some group chat, so I checked it out. I think it sucks personally. Don’t bother commenting to me about it, I saw it, I hate it. There’s some store or maybe a few out there, but I just saw pictures on fucker… er flickr with maybe 12-14 different avatars wearing mesh hair from alice or something, some place I don’t want to say the wrong name and piss people off that I don’t care about anyway. It’s fucking so flat looking and lifeless though, even the youtube video didn’t do it justice. I mean it moves but it’s rigged in a way where it looks glued down when the head turns. I think people are so mystified by something so old, yet new to sl, and also that it doesn’t clip into the body, that they automatically think it’s good, but it’s really not. The person who made it really needs to re-work that, if they CAN spend more time working and less time rushing stuff out to make money off people who don’t quite understand what good is. It looks like stuff in portfolios we’d reject at my job… I’m sorry but I’m honest. I should buy it and try to get the guys at work to comment in a video on youtube about it. A lot of SL people would cry though. I mean if you’re going to make stuff in a game, as friends opinions on how to make it better before releasing it.
Personally I like the hair from Maitreya, Truth, I used to like that one Japanese store with the white skybox for a store… and there’s so many others, red queen, lamb and others I can’t recall. Ducknipple maybe… or no, they don’t make hair, just duck nipples and duck penis maybe will be the sister store. Nah I love Ducknipple, that person that makes ducknipples will probably do shit right if they ever delve in mesh. So with all these hairs from the places I named, I mean you can edit those to make them more personalized for your avatar and get some unique looks happening, but with the mesh ones that won’t ever happen. People can’t even make more than 2 or 3 mesh tops, jeans, skirts or boots, they sure as hell won’t make like 20+ hairs per color to pick from. It’s either too stubborn, too greedy, too stupid or too untalented. I’m not saying every creator that’s doing mesh is any of those things, like the Pink Inc post below for instance, I liked the skirt, it’s just huge. There are some other mesh creations I’ve seen though, that are totally going about it wrong. AND WORSE when people point it out, they get pissy and turn the people who pointed it out into a villain. I’ve had that happen to me, TRUE story. Actually maybe the person who made this alice hair or whatever put scripts in that hair so you can get some different colors, at least it looked like it from the poorly made youtube video… but it still didn’t save that sinking ship.
I don’t even know all the creators anymore, stores fade, “new” ones appear and the same person makes alts and multiple stores but you can tell if you have a good eye and know photoshop it’s the same person. Oh well no point in rambling on about it. Enjoy your glue hairs people who like that hair at whatever store that is. I’m not the only one who dislikes it. There’s some guy on twitter ripping it apart, and other stuff related to SL actually. The level of brutal honesty he is spitting out is hilarious, some of you that i covered are commented on there. His stuff is harsh, he makes me look like a hero.
