Pink Inc stuff
Pink Inc has some mesh clothes.Very nice texture work on the skirt folds, doesn’t fit sadly, and only had 2 sizes to work with. It seems like a lot of creators I covered here, that use mesh (and a few others I haven’t even mentioned) are making the hips really wide and the ass stick out really far, as if a guy is working on it. Really fat and not hugging at the waist.
I want to talk about this place more but I just tried the demo and I’m in a rush. I’ll edit this later. Hope this store makes more sizes of the current things it has released, they are nice. Might be using the Damien Fate stuff which I thought that Jane store was using, but they are all in the same sim, which explains why the ass is wrong. Many of these mesh skirts and tops have some identical geography going on, and without doing stuff that is illegal in SL, I can’t confirm it, and I don’t trust word of mouth.
It really doesn’t matter though, regardless of who made the mesh and rigged it, it is just too big, which is too bad, because the skirt is good. If someone is saying this fits to them perfectly, then they have to have quite a large avatar or proportions anyway. I could and might post 100s of shots of my shape next to other people in SL, and they would be very similar in size. I may be able to even get a chat response on slider info to see how closely it matches my own, and then I can be confident in saying all those people would not be able to wear this great stuff from Pink Inc, because it’s too big. Not to mention Jane and Pixel Mode and many others which all seem to have a very similar shape/dimensions. So again, if I could view it outside of SL, I’d probably see it’s the same because it’s too much of a coincidence that all of them suffer from the exact same issues.
Anyway, no point in commenting or sending me messages just yet and if you have avatar that has the butt size sliders cranked up (hi boys), check out the Pink Inc stuff, it’s decent.
There’s a photo example below. The picture with the wireframe of a shape with the overlay of the same shot with the skirt on. You can see with the yellow guidelines, all the extra fat or space someone who’s using a smaller shape, will suddenly have when they put this mesh skirt on. It’s actually more than the oldschool Sl skirt system adds, and this Pink Inc skirt is one of the smaller ones in SL, most are ALOT bigger, I haven’t posted those just yet.
Just looking for yourself, you can see that the skirt is adding alot of padding to the back end, especially if you look at it from right behind the avatar, it’s a huge J-Lo ass(but not in a good way like her’s kind of is)… maybe bigger, and I won’t even talk about the lack of hugging to the waist or the front view issues. And trust me, I know that it is going to be hard to achieve perfect fits on all the different sized avatars, since the Linden’s released a limited feature people are foolishly using early…at least for clothing, but work aside, with many sizes, not just 2 or 3, but producing a wider range of sizes, things can get a bit closer to fitting multiple avatars better; because I’ve done it myself. It will take a bit more time and it still isn’t perfect, but when you get good at easily scaling and rigging it, you can pump out a lot of variations in a matter of minutes.

Mesh skirts look pretty bad with non mesh tops too, especially long shirt layers that normally go over the top of a pants/underwear layer skirt, but obviously won’t with mesh. Not to mention a mesh top and mesh bottom can and usually will clip into each other, so it serves no purpose really but to look like a noob… and forget about wearing belts with mesh skirts and pants, unless you want to look like you’re wearing some oversized thing around your waist.
In regards to the Pink Inc skirt, the curvy version was even bigger too than this normal version in the shots. I see a lot of people who wear mesh having this extra padding in the back (i’ll see if I can capture those shots too, people don’t always stand still), and it looks like some hand-me-down clothing that doesn’t fit. Again there needs to be more ranges than 2 or 3.
SL shouldn’t be about us changing our shapes ever. Maybe the person buying these things doesn’t want to be fatter, but really likes these creators works, yet nothing fits. Also if you did alter this shape because it was tested, it throws off the perfect fit on the mesh boots and the mesh top which was removed from this shot. In the end the person really would lose their base shape, and who they are. Besides like I said, rigging several isnt’ a problem. The alpha layer allows for a lot of flexibility here. I wish people were taking advantage of that.
