Violent Seduction’s – La Morte Elf…
…is the item in question this time. A really nice mesh outfit as you can see from the screenshot. The thing doesn’t fit any of the shapes I tried from at least 6 different shape makers. No options to even attempt to make it fit. It’s just another wasted upload and wasted Lindens if you do not try the outfit out.
My friend is in the group sent me a screenshot of the chat, where people were talking about it not fitting yourself. The one person with the legs clipping issue is someone I know, and she has a very nice avatar too, but this outfit would not fit her, or me, or my friend or 6 various popular shape creators’ shapes I tried it with. I must have tried somewhere around 12 shapes trying to get it to fit to something. It never did. It’s a shame too, it’s nice but as the chat points out you need the creator’s shape to have it fit as perfect as it does in that product screenshot… and even then, I want to use my shape, not that shape, no offense. Mesh shouldn’t be about us altering our shapes to make every piece of mesh clothing fit. More rigged versions of the outfit need to be uploaded, the creator needs to make this happen like skin makers and hair creators do for their products.
It’s too much work you say? It’s not really. I rig 100s of meshes across 100s of sizes a day on more complex skeletons than the mere Second Life avatar. Besides you are ”running a business” in Second Life. Many creators call the work they do in SL, “their job.” So you’ll have to do some fucking work at “your job” and rig more sizes, and again not just a few, but MANY. Especially if you want people to actually enjoy your efforts. From my experience most creators are total fuckers though. They are empty shells when you try to actually talk to them, far too busy to discuss anything with the person who just dropped money down on their work (or plans to) while standing around in their skyboxes, jerking it. So they won’t make other sizes because they just want money. They don’t seem to care about taking time to make their things more accessible to their fanbase, and share their art with the community. Like with mesh in Second Life, instead of taking an active position to make it work for everyone by making multiple sizes (not 2-3, more like 10+ as I keep saying), they just blame it on Linden Lab for making it either fit, or not. It doesn’t need to be that way though. Read my other posts.
If this Mesh shit is going to work, then take the time to make MANY multiple sizes, not just 3 or 4 or even 6, but 10 or more! Do this so people can feel good about mesh in Second Life, and hopefully they finally get SOMETHING to fit proper.
