I wonder if Tala Laval of Losthaven, got Clive Barker and Todd McFarlane’s permission to do this? I’ll find out when they email me back. This is the kind of scum in SL that should not be praised for any work they do, none is really been done. This is someone who takes someone elses work, recreates it, sells it for money they keep. I’m sure Clive and Todd aren’t get paid for this.
It may not be an exact copy but it contains a few elements from several of the figures; I just listed one for comparison. A shame really, and textured quite poorly.
Speaking of thieves, you need to check out the Kodama mall in SL too - talk about thieves. Any and most Anime/Manga is copied/stolen, remade and resold here. They even have posters up telling people to pay proper respect to IP Rights and don’t infringe on copyright, and then they have avatars being sold from Anime series they didn’t even make! It’s hypocritical and must be stopped. If they can copy Gundam, DragonBall Z, Sailor Moon or Gantz and remake it and sell it and everyone is cool with that behaviour, I should be able to copybot some skin maker who’s a nobody, because they sure as hell aren’t Akira Toriyama, and resell their skins and make profit. That is exactly what they are doing, only with reputable and well-known Japanese works.
One of my next posts will show everything side by side from Kodama Mall. I already took about 40 screenshots and everything is exact copies. I think some avatars cost more money in conversion rate, than it would cost to buy the real product, such as a Gundam or DBZ Blu Ray DvD with a full season of episodes on it. Hilarious!
