More stolen content. Another personal case for me. Square-Enix will be pursuing this person, even if it means… the absolute worst case scenario.
Alternate Lastchance has been marked.
As for the Hunter model in the background from Valve’s game Left 4 Dead, they’ve been contacted and are trying to work with me as well.
SoE and DC Comics already know about the ripped Wonder Woman mesh from DC Universe Online, and I already had a store closed down for selling the exact same ripped mesh and textures.
These people stealing mesh from other games and selling it are really dooming themselves… and I don’t mean just SL. There is no lengths we won’t go to pulverize their life financially, until they are left with nothing. Obtaining Alternate Lastchance’s IP address was easy and it’s been linked to other platforms. It’s only a matter of time now.
Truth Hair
I’ve been reading a lot of people talking about how the new Truth Hair (mesh hair) doesn’t fit right or isn’t rigged to the head properly. Some people on SL Universe had me check out some of the newer hairstyles, so I took a look myself and I have to agree, sadly… that Truth isn’t “the best” hair of SL anymore. And that was always just an opinion of mine.
The biggest issue is with mesh, you can’t resize the hair so it looks flat often on several of people in the Truth store, I saw trying it on. Only on tiny avatars with hobbitesque legs and those weird round heads, does it ALMOST look right. It doesn’t fit every headsize properly, like it did when it was a combination of sculpts and alphas (which looked more lively and real to me) is what I noticed. Not being able to resize hair is a big issue for me too. My avatar is fairly small but looks human, and the hair still looked flat and horrible.
I also tried a few styles people on SLU commented on having rigging issues with animation overides. I found 4 to not work with my AO, like other rigged mesh hair does in SL. It clips into the face when your head turns. If you’re going to dance or do any extreme animations, it’s going to look like crap. Other mesh hair doesn’t do this so I don’t know exactly what Truth is doing wrong.
The best Truth hair was before mesh. Without the ability to resize hair, tweak the bangs or a few strands and with it now being rigged (wrong in some cases), Truth Hair is definitely not my number 1 or even number 10 source for finding hair anymore, and that is upsetting since Truth used to be one of my favorite places to get hair. I guess it’s good it gives other hair creators a chance now. Suddenly I’m finding quite a few better places!
Mesh is GREAT in SL, but there’s lots of cases of it not being good either and because it’s there doesn’t mean it’s not always the correct answer. It might be fine to section longer pieces of the hair and rig that to the torso, but the part we wear on our heads needs to be a combination of things. It needs to be re-sizable above all else.
Add Truth to that list of many stores that are stripping away any individuality we once had with our avatars.
I’m not affiliated with BioWare, but my people are working with them to resolve this issue too.
-This post is in regards mostly to about 50 messages I got. I thought making a separate post about it would be easier to answer those messages.
Mission Accomplished.
That’s why I didn’t post for several months. Others are falling too. I have an interesting story to share as well about a popular blogger, with nearly 200 megs of documentation and photographs. Coming eventually, but I need to talk to some people in legal, and work out the details. Things like this take time unfortunately, and I am really excited to share this info with everyone, especially people who doubted my reservations on the subject. Should really change things in SL though.
Gould Voyage, another son-of-a-bitch, asshole in Second Life, that is stealing the models out of the Aliens Vs Predator game, and selling them as his own in Second Life, cashing in on other people’s work. Real work in an industry he could never get a job. He also stole predator meshes from that game, as well as meshes from the Batman games, Spider-man and some Mass Effect models too. I can’t believe people think they can get away with this! Luckily the people who own this work he stole are working to get it removed at ANY cost. This thief won’t be operating for too much longer, if he’s even able to log in after the guys who originally created this get through with him.
Whore Couture Fair
Why the hell, year after year, do these events take place in one sim, with tons of lag as everyone will predict and constant crashes? Why not let us just go to each store instead of putting the strain on one sim? I don’t give a fuck about the design or the host of the event, whoever that even is. I just want to buy stuff. Of course with the lag you can click something to buy it but the option never comes up.
Weeks back they let bloggers in though, who didn’t do anything for this event but post the same crappy outfits and basically show-off in their blogs that they got stuff before the average sl person who actually PAYS for things. There’s better stuff there, of course than what the bloggers put up, just getting in the sim to see it is another thing though. Not to mention flying/wallking towards a giant sign for 10 minutes that says the name of the place you want to go to find it’s not there and it was just some advertisement, is fucking wrong, but people in Second Life continue to be stupid and have these events take place in one sim with tons of lag. Usually people learn from their mistakes but in Second Life they just keep repeating them over and over, for every single event.
The only whore in this event is the one who decided to hold this shit in one sim.
The New Cold Logic Releases
Like I mentioned in my other post about Cold Logic, they are good, and they include MANY sizes like I originally said every creator making mesh products should do last fall, but I wish they’d also put in an extra size or two for thickness. Cold Logics latest releases are fine from the front, including any many sizes that make them seem more professional then most people releasing just one or two sizes, but the breasts and butt sections are either too small or too big. It’s easy to resize and rerig all those meshes, I’d do it for free for the person if they were my friend, but I don’t know the Cold Logic creator. The store is good even though not everything is interesting, but they need to tweak sizes in two directions. The alpha has nothing to do with this, it’s just for the smaller sizes of the items, they leave the chest/butt big still and it looks really strange on some avatars and can give an even more unnatural body appearance than the typical SL avatar shape to begin with. Hopefully they are like me and strive for perfection.
Same person as below stealing meshes from EA Games Alice game and selling them. EA already knows but it’s very brave of this person to do this since EA went after people before. Everything here is stolen from the game. It’s odd that this person thinks they have the right to sell this and make a profit.
Everything in this store, all the mesh uploads Catwoman Ember did… that’s illegal content for anyone who has played the Batman Arkham City game or DC Universe. I’m already in contact with Linden Labs but I’m getting the same run-around as that Max Graff guy did with his very own content. I own every single models original file and would be happy to post them up here, though buying the game or trying the demo will clearly show you that everything in this store and the one next to it, is all stolen content.
The first shot like the ones below is taken from in the store. The other shots are model renders I took inside 3dsMax. I can even provide the files, as I own them. I’m not going to post every single one, this is just an example. Just doing a google search or watching a youtube trailer or gameplay video reveals all this, if perhaps you were living under a rock.
So, I don’t know how to deal with this, since Linden Lab is giving me the same run-around as they did with that Max Graff guys content in SL itself. I could easily eliminate the person from SL but I rather do it legally since this is a legal matter.
Suggestions?
Store in Second Life that has ripped meshes (models in the real world) directly out of the game Batman: Arkham City, and uploaded (looks like shit, very flat without the shader info) and being sold. No one here knows who I really am, so it’s okay to say I have worked with Rocksteady on Batman Arkham Asylum, and already am talking to the people at the studio about this and Linden Lab themselves. The owner of this store is Catwoman Ember, though Linden Lab has provided us finally with her real name. They shouldn’t be ripping the models from the game and reselling them for profit, it’s common sense that’s stealing. This one won’t end well for her.
Sadly this whole mall in the Aftermath Sim is breaking lots of copyright infrignement laws, so hopefully there is a large crackdown on this. This whole incident is a good example of how mesh can be a failure in Second Life, and how Linden Lab should have a filtering process of some sort. Rocksteady is owned by Warner Brothers and they have the money to really hurt things in SL, all because of people in this sim’s mall.
